School
Bobritsa has its own general secondary first stage school named after Petro Tymoshenko.
The building of Bobritsa eight-year school was constructed in the 1930s. It was a solid wooden building, in which they also taught children from neighboring villages: Luka, Zabiria and Zhornivka. The school wasn’t in use for a while, but the current school began operating in the same building in 1993.
At the request of students, teachers and parents, with the objective of furthering patriotic education of the younger generation and respect to the blessed memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War, the school was named after Petro Sydorovych Tymoshenko, a fifteen-year-old Soviet scout who was shot by German invaders in September 1941. 72 years later, in the “War Diary” of the secret field police department No. 560 at the headquarters of the 29th Army Corps of the Sixth German Army, an entry from September 10, 1941 was discovered: “The department at the headquarters of the 29th AC reports on the interrogation and execution of the spy Petro Petrov from Hnativka.” As it turned out, after falling into the Nazi hands, the young man gave his real name and place of birth — Petro from Hnativka (a village not far from Bobritsa). It seems that Petro deliberately indicated his call sign “Petrov,” which he received from Soviet intelligence, apparently hoping that in this way the Soviet command would learn about the fate of its scout.
Much later, in our time, Petro Tymoshenko was posthumously awarded the medal For Courage and Valor.
The school has up-to-date infrastructure: classrooms have been repaired, it has a fully equipped recreation room, three computers, new desks and indoor toilets.
